Vox Media is pleased to announce that we’ve received a score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey of practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. While the work of creating an inclusive workplace never stops, we are proud that our culture, practices, and processes were recognized through this score
Vox Media was also honored with a perfect score in 2019.
The full report is available online at www.hrc.org/cei.
To curate the list of Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality, the CEI rates companies and top law firms on detailed criteria falling under five broad categories:
- Non-discrimination policies
- Employment benefits
- Demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion
- Public commitment to LGBTQ equality
- Responsible citizenship
At Vox Media, we strive to make impactful policy, benefits, and practices to ensure that everyone can bring their authentic self to work every day. These practices include inclusive medical benefits — including parity between same and different-sex spousal benefits and transgender-inclusive health care coverage; an Employee Resource Group dedicated to furthering inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community (our Queer Vox Club); non-discrimination policies that specify sexual orientation and gender identity; and engagement with the LGBTQ+ community in both recruiting efforts, such as our ongoing partnership with the Center, and consumer-facing experiences, such as the Outsports Pride event.
This designation joins Vox Media’s recent accolades earned including Digiday’s 2019 Best Employer for Parents.
