Today Vox Media Podcast Network and The Verge launched a new podcast — Decoder with Nilay Patel. Hosted by Verge editor-in-chief Nilay Patel, the new show will carry on Kara Swisher’s legacy of tough, news-breaking interviews for Recode Decode subscribers. In Decoder, Patel will interview a diverse cast of innovators and policymakers at the frontiers of business and technology to reveal how they’re navigating an ever-changing landscape, what keeps them up at night, and what it all means for our shared future. In the first episode, which is out today and available here, Patel spoke with Dallas Mavericks owner and tech investor Mark Cuban about how he feels about a potential Biden presidency, what he’s learned from the NBA bubble, why breaking up big tech won’t actually fix the problems with big tech, and more.
Decoder with Nilay Patel will bolster The Verge’s growing audio footprint, which includes the popular weekly show The Vergecast, where Patel and co-host Dieter Bohn look at what’s happening right now (and next) in the world of technology and gadgets.
Decoder with Nilay Patel was announced by Patel on the virtual stage at the IAB Podcast Upfronts.
