Vox Media Studios and New York Magazine Celebrate the Premiere of “Sex Diaries” on HBO

Series Premieres with Back-to-Back Episodes December 16 at 11:00pm ET/PT

Today, Sex Diaries, a new docuseries produced by Vox Media Studios and based on the popular New York Magazine column, will premiere at 11:00pm ET/PT on HBO. Sex Diaries chronicles eight New Yorkers in short, intimate profiles as they navigate sex and dating in the city. The verité portraits are woven together with video diaries that share personal reflections on dating, cultivating relationships and exploring sexual desire, and include check-ins with Alyssa Shelasky, editor of the New York Magazine column, as diarists recount the ups and downs of their experiences. A contemporary look at a search for connection, Sex Diaries offers a range of unique explorations of sex, intimacy, and relationships today.

Sex Diaries is produced by Vox Media Studios and directed by Jenny Carchman with episodes three and four directed by Carchman and Alexandra Nikolchev. It is produced by Shirel Kozak, Alexandra Nikolchev, Mae Ryan and co-executive produced by Alyssa Shelasky. Executive producers include Big Pond Films’ Allyson Luchak and Jenny Carchman, Vox Media Studio’s Chad Mumm, Mark W. Olsen and Max Heckman with Scoop Wasserstein and Motto Pictures’ Julie Goldman.

This marks Vox Media Studios’ third premiere with HBO following the critically acclaimed documentary series Mind Over Murder and the Emmy-nominated Vox series Level Playing Field. Multiple New York Magazine features have been adapted for television including The Watcher, Inventing Anna, and many more.

Sex Diaries debuts with two back-to-back episodes tonight, December 16, at 11:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. ET/PT) followed by the final two episodes debuting at the same time on Friday, December 23. The docuseries will debut on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.
