Kara Swisher Announces New Interview Podcast in Partnership with Vox Media and New York Magazine, On with Kara Swisher

The twice weekly show will feature agenda-setting conversations, led by one of the most iconic journalists of our time.

New York Magazine and the Vox Media Podcast Network today announced a new interview podcast from journalist Kara Swisher. Called On with Kara Swisher, the twice-weekly show will help listeners make sense of the moment through agenda-setting conversations between Swisher and some of the most powerful people in Silicon Valley, Washington and Hollywood. Swisher will deliver her signature hard-hitting interviews, which over the years have included figures such as President Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Bob Iger, Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Mark Zuckerberg, Stacey Abrams, and Tim Cook. She’ll push her guests beyond their talking points, and also reveal a more unfiltered Swisher – looser, more opinionated and full of advice, solicited and unsolicited. The trailer is out today, with new episodes of the show released on Mondays and Thursdays, beginning September 26th.

“In a sense, On with Kara Swisher is the show I’ve been working on since I first started podcasting in 2015. It marries some of the best parts of my past interview shows — the live journalism of Recode Decode and Sway with the voiciness and community aspects of Pivot,” says Swisher. “This is an exciting new chapter for me, and I think you’ll be able to hear that in the show.”

Swisher will continue co-hosting Pivot, the award-winning tech and business podcast she helms with NYU Stern Marketing professor Scott Galloway. She was formerly a contributing Opinion writer at The New York Times, and host of the podcast, Sway. Early to the podcasting game, Swisher launched the award-winning interview podcast Recode Decode in 2015 with Vox Media, which featured conversations with leading players across the tech and business landscape. She co-founded the tech site Recode, acquired by Vox Media in 2014, and before that, co-produced and co-hosted The Wall Street Journal’s “D: All Things Digital” conference series, now called the Code Conference. It was, and still is, the country’s premier conference on tech and media.

Hanna Rosin and Nayeema Raza are the executive producers of On with Kara Swisher. The show’s senior producers are Blakeney Schick and Cristian Castro Rossel. The show joins an audio slate at New York Magazine that includes Pivot, investigative series Cover Story, culture podcasts Into It, Switched on Pop, and Good One, and more. Listen to the trailer for On with Kara Swisher, and follow the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
