Vox Media today announced the launch of Good Noticings, a new podcast in partnership with comedians Ashley Hamilton and Claire Parker. Good Noticings will build on the success of Hamilton and Parker’s previous podcast, Celebrity Memoir Book Club, which came to an end this past August after cultivating a devoted audience around its smart, comedic takes on celebrity tell-alls. With Good Noticings, which launches September 10th, Parker and Hamilton are widening their lens to reflect how audiences actually consume culture today—across platforms, genres, and mediums. New episodes of the show will be available on Wednesdays on audio and video platforms including Apple, Spotify, and YouTube (in the former Celebrity Memoir Book Club feed). Vox Media will assume sales, marketing, and distribution duties for the show.
“In a world that sensationalizes and discards headlines before there’s time to think twice, we’re excited to use the skills we honed through 5 years of Celebrity Memoir Book Club to tackle celebrity news and culture with substance and empathy,” say Parker and Hamilton.
Brooklyn-based stand-up comedians Hamilton and Parker created Celebrity Memoir Book Club in 2020 and over the course of 5 years and 250 episodes, grew a community of nearly a million people around the show. Named one of the “Best Podcasts of the Year” in 2022 and 2023 by outlets like Vogue, Esquire, and Cosmopolitan, in the course of its life, the show has sold out live shows in cities around the world from Los Angeles to London, and reached #7 on Apple Podcast’s U.S. Comedy charts, as well as top 10 in over a dozen countries.
“We’ve loved working with Claire and Ashley and we are constantly inspired by the devoted community they’ve built across platforms,” says Vox Media’s VP for the podcast business Lillian Xu. “We’re thrilled to partner with them on Good Noticings—a show that takes their trademark wit and curiosity into a broader cultural conversation, mixing their smart insights with rapid-fire reviews on the latest books, music, movies, and shows.”
One of the largest U.S. podcast publishers according to leading industry trackers Podtrac and Podscribe, Good Noticings takes its place among a roster of shows at Vox Media that includes influential franchises like Pivot (hosted by journalist Kara Swisher and entrepreneur Scott Galloway), A Touch More (hosted by world-renowned athletes Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe), Waveform: The MKBHD Podcast (hosted by YouTuber and tech reviewer Marques Brownlee), Networth & Chill (hosted by Your Rich BFF Vivian Tu), Criminal (hosted by journalist Phoebe Judge), Tefi Talks (hosted by influential host, creator, and comedian Tefi Pessoa), and more.
