Will Anderson Launches Monday Music Club Podcast with Vox Media

Musician, songwriter, and creator Will Anderson and Vox Media today announced the launch of Monday Music Club, a new show about the defining moments that have shaped the way we hear the world. Each week, Anderson will explore the stories behind iconic songs, legendary artists, and the creative forces that have transformed music and culture. He’ll dive deep into a story that answers a question like “Who invented rock and roll?” “Why did Fleetwood Mac fall apart?” or “What was it like to be there in the early days of Motown?” Guests will span from notable writers and historians to fellow music podcasters, Motown greats and more.

Anderson first rose to prominence as the frontman of the alternative pop band Parachute, earning platinum- and gold-certified singles while touring sold-out venues around the world. That firsthand experience, paired with an endless curiosity about music and its rich history, gives him a unique perspective on the people, innovations and cultural shifts that have soundtracked our lives. He has more than 1.5 million followers across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, where he began posting short-form videos under the Monday Music Club moniker, first as comedy sketches revolving around music, and then later as short, informative takes on music history.

“I’m ecstatic to be teaming up with Vox Media for the Monday Music Club podcast,” said Anderson. “My obsession with music and history has been a life-long ailment, so to get to have a space to explore and tell these stories is such a thrill to me. Vox Media was the perfect partner to team up with for this show. They saw the vision from the very beginning, and understood this as the natural extension of the community I’ve been building on social media the last few years.”

“We’re thrilled to work with Will on this new evolution of Monday Music Club as he expands into the podcast format,” said Lillian Xu, VP, podcast business, at Vox Media. “His work as a successful musician, coupled with his love of history, gives him a unique ability to explore fascinating stories of music history.”

Whether you’re obsessed with music history, fascinated by the craft of songwriting, or simply looking to hear your favorite songs in a new way, Monday Music Club is where the conversation begins. The trailer is out today, with new episodes released to YouTube, Apple, Spotify, and more each…Monday. The series is produced by Figures, with Mike Goldstein and Tate Frazier serving as executive producers.
