What does it take to build a brand (and a business) that not only delights customers, but keeps them coming back again and again for more? Meet Christina Tosi, the baking whiz behind Milk Bar, who is building an empire that includes retail stores, cool product collaborations, classes, books, television appearances and more, all while engaging and enticing an ever-growing fanbase.
Moderated by Vox Media CMO Lindsay Nelson, we will discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the ever-growing world of podcasting. From advertising and discoverability to storytelling and voice UI, we’ll unpack the innovations that are happening across a medium everyone is dipping their toes (and ears) into. How can podcasters and brands leverage fresh technology, provide differentiated value and find their audiences?
Join Kara Swisher for a live edition of Recode Decode, featuring Michelin-star-studded chef José Andrés. They’ll discuss his humanitarian venture, World Central Kitchen, and the role that social media and food can play in post-disaster community building.
Vox’s editor at large, Ezra Klein, will talk one-on-one with Melinda Gates, co-chair of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, about the power of philanthropy. If you’re not in Austin, fear not: The interview will be available to stream on Vox’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
One of tech’s most prominent journalists, Kara Swisher is known for her insightful reporting and straight-shooting style. During this live episode of Recode Decode, Kara will sit down with attorney, businesswoman and civic leader Valerie Jarrett to talk diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, how to lead in the #metoo era, and what tech leaders should consider in today’s political landscape.
Come FAN with SB Nation for an evening of healthy competition. First, test your gaming skills in our Breaking NBA 2K 1-on-1 tournament. We’ll dip back into the NBA Y2K reserves and build two NBA 2K18 teams: One of tiny, helpless babies and one of 7’10” monsters! You’ll get a chance to compete for bragging rights and a prize. Then, we’ll tip off March Madness with a Selection Sunday viewing party. If your team didn’t make it, or worse, you don’t yet have a team, look no further: SB Nation editor in chief Elena Bergeron, SB Nation writer Charlotte Wilder and a surprise guest will help fans choose a college hoops team to follow through the bracket. You may even learn something to help you win your pool!
