The Vox Media Podcast Network is proud to announce an expansion of its partnership with Stitcher – a leader in podcast content creation, distribution and advertising – to produce a new technology news podcast from Recode, Vox Media’s technology and business news network. The new show will feature a to-be-hired host, and will be produced by a new, dedicated team. The show will release three episodes each week beginning this summer.

“There is no shortage of angles to investigate all the way technology is changing our lives,” said Allison Rockey, Executive Editor and Director of Editorial Strategy at Vox. “We’ll be looking at everything from the big news of the day out of Silicon Valley to the ways Washington is regulating – or not regulating – the industry. With everything from privacy to A.I. and how social media impacts our elections, there is so much to understand about how technology is radically shaping our world. We’re looking forward to seeing a dynamic team come together for this new show and are thrilled to be partnering with Stitcher once again.”
Today also marks the one-year anniversary of “Today, Explained”, Vox’s daily news podcast which launched in partnership with Stitcher. The show, which has published more than 250 episodes to date, was one of the most downloaded new podcasts of 2018 by Apple Podcasts and a nominee for Best News Podcast in the inaugural iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. With this expanded partnership, the Today, Explained team will also grow its production team, as it continues on for another year.
“Sean and the Today, Explained team bring a curiosity, sense of humor and humanity to their daily take on world affairs that’s both true to Vox’s unique brand and a standout among other daily news offerings,” said Erik Diehn, CEO of Stitcher. “As a platform dedicated to connecting passionate audiences with unique creative voices, we’re proud to help bring this show to the world and look forward to doing the same with Recode later this year.”
