The Vox Media Podcast Network is proud to announce an expansion of its partnership with Stitcher – a leader in podcast content creation, distribution and advertising – to produce a new technology news podcast from Recode, Vox Media’s technology and business news network. The new show will feature a to-be-hired host, and will be produced by a new, dedicated team. The show will release three episodes each week beginning this summer.

“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Stitcher to produce a new show from Recode, and to continue the growth of the Vox Media Podcast Network,” said Marty Moe, President of Vox Media. “As the podcasting medium grows, Vox Media is committed to offering new, innovative advertising solutions to our partners, and producing an expanding slate of impactful programming across our editorial networks.”

The new podcast from Recode will cover everything affected by the changing tides of tech, and explain the ways in which technology is dramatically transforming all industries, as well as our culture and politics. Recode will produce the go-to tech news podcast delivering essential news and analysis to industry leaders, business decision-makers, creators and policy-makers, through its s unprecedented access to tech leaders, and essential coverage of Silicon Valley.

“There is no shortage of angles to investigate all the way technology is changing our lives,” said Allison Rockey, Executive Editor and Director of Editorial Strategy at Vox. “We’ll be looking at everything from the big news of the day out of Silicon Valley to the ways Washington is regulating – or not regulating – the industry. With everything from privacy to A.I. and how social media impacts our elections, there is so much to understand about how technology is radically shaping our world. We’re looking forward to seeing a dynamic team come together for this new show and are thrilled to be partnering with Stitcher once again.”

Today also marks the one-year anniversary of “Today, Explained”, Vox’s daily news podcast which launched in partnership with Stitcher. The show, which has published more than 250 episodes to date, was one of the most downloaded new podcasts of 2018 by Apple Podcasts and a nominee for Best News Podcast in the inaugural iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. With this expanded partnership, the Today, Explained team will also grow its production team, as it continues on for another year.

“Sean and the Today, Explained team bring a curiosity, sense of humor and humanity to their daily take on world affairs that’s both true to Vox’s unique brand and a standout among other daily news offerings,” said Erik Diehn, CEO of Stitcher. “As a platform dedicated to connecting passionate audiences with unique creative voices, we’re proud to help bring this show to the world and look forward to doing the same with Recode later this year.”
