AXIOS: Vox Media now publishes 200+ podcasts

Vox Media now has more than 200 active podcasts that it publishes through the Vox Podcast Network, up from 75 in January, executives tell Axios…. Over the past year, Vox Media has developed its own podcast network, that it can use to distribute its own content, as well as eventually distribute others.

DIGIDAY:‘ The economics of experiential are really attractive’: How Eater is expanding its events business

Like all publishers, Vox Media is looking to events as a way to diversify revenue. Its food site Eater has spent the past year bulking up its experiential offerings, ranging from evening wine and book clubs to a daylong summit that capitalized on its eight-year-old “Young Guns” franchise of up-and-coming talent in the food world. In total, Eater has already hosted, or been a part of, over 50 events for Vox Media this year, including launching 11 new event programs and series for its brand in 2019 alone.

Vox Media, HP and Critical Mass are among Digiday Worklife Awards winners

Vox Media has won Best Employer for Parents, which set out to award the employer who had proven to be the most accommodating and flexible for working parents. Some perks for parents at the New York-based media company include 100% employer-paid parental leave for primary or secondary caregivers, flexible work from home policies and parents’ rooms.

Nieman Lab: Vox’s new podcast goes where news podcasts haven’t gone before: Sundays

Reset: Vox Media Podcast Network’s Next Big Swing. This has been in the works for a while, but it’s finally coming out soon. On October 15, Vox Media will officially launch Reset, its upcoming technology news podcast that was originally announced back in February as part of what Axios described as a “multi-million dollar deal” expanding the partnership Vox Media struck up Stitcher that originated Today, Explained, the former’s daily news podcast.

Vox Creative is this year’s winner for Best Content Studio. Established in 2014, Vox Creative is the custom content branch of Vox Media, responsible for creating custom content on all eight Vox Media properties. It leverages the analytics and ad units present in Vox Media’s sites to create content that that fits in with the surrounding editorial coverage. It has done work for advertisers such as Jeep, XBox, Mailchimp, Walmart and many more.
