Vox Media’s 2020 CES round-up

The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) took place in Las Vegas this week, and Vox Media showed up in full force.

Some highlights from the week:

Vox Media CEO Jim Bankoff joined MediaLink’s keynote on Tuesday to discuss the importance of brand purpose, while reinforcing Vox Media’s commitment to driving impact in the world from Vox Creative’s partnerships with organizations like the United Nations, to building technologies that power the media and marketing industry with Chorus, Concert and the newly announced Forte.

Tuesday evening, Helen Havlak, VP of The Verge participated in a panel at the Female Quotient Equality Lounge to discuss technology’s role in journalism. Amongst other journalists and editorial leaders, Havlak highlighted how 5G and social media are impacting how editorial teams find and tell their stories, and the decision to tell these across platforms. Quibi’s Wednesday morning keynote was the one of the most anticipated events of the week, featuring an announcement of a slate of programming including Polygon’s upcoming daily culture and gaming news show “Speedrun.”

Ryan Pauley, Chief Revenue Officer caught up with Adweek in a video interview to discuss how Vox Media is prepared for CCPA with products like Forte – and a new offering to marketers post-merger with New York Media.
